Get A Cruise Ship Job

Okay, let’s just get right down to it. If you’ve ever read any of those “how to get a job” guides for your typical “corporate America” jobs, you know how dry and boring they are. Sure, they work (if you can keep a straight face during the interview while spewing all that BS) but getting through the material is like root canal.

Well, this book is the total opposite. Now maybe it’s because it’s for such a fascinating line of work, working on a cruise ship. I don’t know. But this material is not dry.

The book is written by an actual cruise ship crew member and hiring specialist, meaning he knows what’s required to get a job on one of these things. And let me tell you, the competition is fierce. So if you don’t know what you’re doing, forget it. It’s like trying to get a job in the entertainment industry. These are highly sought after positions.

Neil Maxwell covers everything you could possibly want to know about getting a cruise line job including how to research the cruise line you’re interested in to see if you even want to work for them.

On page 17, he tells you 2 critical words you absolutely must know in order to get the job you want. You must read this part of the book.

He shows you how to get a job where you’re working the minimum number of hours possible so that you can spend most of your time on the ship actually enjoying yourself. Priceless information.

There are also real life case studies here so you can see exactly what it’s like working on a cruise ship before you make the decision to apply for a job.

But maybe the best part of the book is the contacts. Neil includes a list of all the best staffing agents so you don’t have to go crazy finding one. This alone is worth the price of the book, which is peanuts.

Essentially, this is a cruise ship employment package. If you need to know something in order to get a job on one of these things, it’s in here. There is no question about that. Neil did a fantastic job with this book. On a scale of 1 to 5, it’s a solid 5.

And I haven’t even gone into all the great bonuses he’s included such as a cover letter generator, resume and interview guidebook, and crew resource kit. Neil has literally left nothing out.
